Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils extracted from various parts of plants.  The most common extraction method is steam distillation.  Fresh plant material is put in a vat resting on a large steamer basket.  As the water is heated, the rising steam carries the volatile oils from the fresh plant parts up to the top of the vat, where it condenses into a separate container.  As the condensed steam cools, the essential oils float to the top of the water.  The quality of the oil depends on the quality and purity of the plant matter used (organic is best), and how carefully the essential oils are handled once they have been extracted.  Essential oils will evaporate quickly, so must be kept tightly bottled.

Essential oils are extremely concentrated.  For example, chamomile essential oil is about 70 times stronger than chamomile tea.  When the oils are inhaled, they quickly osmose through fine capillaries into the bloodstream, so can affect any part of the body.  Most pure essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin full strength, and need to be diluted so as not to cause burns.  Also, some essential oils are strong enough to bring on a menstrual cycle a few days early, or increase the flow, and pregnant women should avoid these oils.  There are safety precautions for many oils, so it is always important to mention any health conditions that I might need to take into consideration when creating your blend.

I use Applied Kinesiology (muscle-testing) or intuition to determine which oils you need on the day of your session.  The oils needed vary from session to session.  I custom-blend your aromatherapy oils based on your needs in the moment.

Custom Blends

I can create a custom blend for a specific purpose, intended to be used over a period of a month or two, and blend and bottle it for you while you wait.  Blends I have made for people include Meditation, Abundance, Courage, Concentration (help with studying), Joy, Heart Healing, Relaxation, Grounding, Love potions (aphrodisiacs), and several blends intended to be used as home remedies for a variety of health conditions not severe enough to warrant a trip to the doctor, such as Coughs/Colds/Bronchitis, Insomnia, Amenorrhea (inhaling Basil 5 times a day will nearly always jumpstart the menstrual cycle!), Indigestion, Colic, Headaches, Muscle aches, Immune system support, Scar Healing, and Skin care for aging/drying or oily skin.

The Raindrop Treatment

The Raindrop Technique is an Aromatherapy treatment that involves a specific set of essential oils selected to effect detoxification in the physical body and the energy field.  The oils are dropped through the auric field from a height of about 18 inches, affecting the subtle layers of the energy body as they fall to the skin.  The oils are then massaged into the tissues using techniques designed to stimulate their effectiveness on an energetic level.

This is an excellent treatment to receive as part of a cleansing and detoxification program.  The particular massage techniques are also supremely relaxing, and can be received purely for pleasure and enjoyment.
